Blake Coleman scored two goals, and Dan Vladar stopped 22 shots to earn his third career shutout, as the Calgary Flames defeated the New Jersey Devils 3-0 on Friday night, snapping a four-game losing streak.
Jonathan Huberdeau also found the net for Calgary.
Jacob Markstrom made 29 saves for the Devils, who were shut out for the first time this season after scoring 12 goals across their previous two wins.
The game remained scoreless until Coleman tipped in a shot with 5:34 left in regulation. Just 28 seconds later, Huberdeau extended Calgary’s lead. Coleman then sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 3:15.
Vladar’s highlight stop came on a second-period breakaway attempt by Jack Hughes.
