The Four Nations Faceoff Rosters were announced on Wednesday, and Jack Hughes of the New Jersey Devils will represent Team USA. Earlier on Wednesday, Jacob Markstrom and Jesper Bratt will play for Sweden, while Erik Haula will play for Team Finland.
Now, one of the best players in the NHL, the EA Sports NHL 25 Cover Boy, will be back on the international stage, displaying his talents.

Jack Hughes is Back with Team USA
It has been a while since Jack Hughes suited up for Team USA on the International Stage. The last time he wore a Team USA sweater was at the 2019 World Junior Championships, his draft year 2019. There, he went first overall. In the 2019 World Juniors, he went up against Kaapo Kakko. He also played at the 2019 World Championships with his brother Quinn Hughes, and he will do that again in February. Their youngest brother, Luke Hughes, was not selected for Team USA.

During the 2019 World Junior Championships, Hughes missed three games with an undisclosed injury. He did return to help Team USA reach the final before losing to Finland. In the 2019 U18 World Championships, Jack Hughes, with 32 points (over the 2018 and 2019 tournaments), broke Alexander Ovechkin’s (31 points) point-scored record as Team USA won bronze. As a 17-year-old at the 2019 World Championships, he recorded three assists.
The Devils did not allow him to play at the 2020 World Junior Championships, and there was some debate over whether he should have been there. Hughes has become a superstar in the NHL and is one of the Devils faces. In 28 games this season, he has 33 points (11 goals and 22 assists).
In June, at the 2024 NHL Draft in Vegas, when the first six players for Team USA were revealed, Jack’s brother Quinn Hughes told reporters he thought his brother Jack would be on the team.
Quinn Hughes: hopefully my brother Jack is on the team. So many great players. The National Developmental Program is a great fraternity. #njdevils #canucks #usa @FullPressNHL @myNHLTradeRumor

Most knew that Jack Hughes would be on the roster. Even his brother knew that in June, and on Wednesday, his prediction came true.
New Jersey Devils Have Two of the Top 20 Centers in the NHL
You have to wonder if Tom Fitzgerald, the assistant manager of Team USA, tried to get Brett Pesce and Luke Hughes on Team USA. The pair play together for the Devils. It makes sense if you have some continuity and familiarity with the backend. Those guys will have their time.
But for now, Jack Hughes and the three other Devils will be playing at the Four Nations Faceoff.
