Scott Wedgewood recorded 25 saves for his seventh career shutout as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-0 on Sunday night.
Ross Colton, Logan O’Connor, Artturi Lehkonen, and Parker Kelly scored for the Avalanche (16-13-0). Casey Mittelstadt and Calvin de Haan contributed two assists each.
Jake Allen stopped 19 shots for the Devils (18-10-2), who were shut out for the fifth time this season.
Wedgewood, acquired from Nashville on Nov. 29 in exchange for Justus Annunen and a sixth-round draft pick, delivered a standout performance against his former team. Wedgewood previously appeared in 23 games for New Jersey across three seasons (2015-16, 2020-21, 2021-22).
Colton, returning for his second game after a lower-body injury sidelined him since Oct. 28, scored in the first period. He had eight goals in Colorado’s first 10 games before his injury. Lehkonen added his third goal in four games as Colorado secured its fourth shutout.
