Mark Stone and Noah Hanifin each found the net on third-period power plays as the Vegas Golden Knights shut out the New Jersey Devils 2-0 on Sunday night.

The victory marked Vegas’ fifth in its last six games, extending its lead atop the Pacific Division to four points over Edmonton.

New Jersey, meanwhile, slipped two points behind Carolina for second place in the Metropolitan Division after the Hurricanes secured an overtime win against Calgary. The Devils also suffered a potential setback when leading scorer Jack Hughes left with an apparent arm injury late in the game. Coach Sheldon Keefe did not provide an update postgame.

Both Golden Knights goals came from Hanifin’s point shots—Stone redirected the first, while the second went through clean.

Jack Eichel assisted on both goals, extending his franchise-record total to 26 power-play points in a single season. Adin Hill recorded 25 saves for his third shutout of the year.

Jacob Markstrom, making his first start since Jan. 22 due to a knee injury, stopped 22 shots for the Devils.

Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb reached a milestone, appearing in his 800th career game, while teammate Zach Whitecloud played his 300th.
