The New Jersey Devils finally found relief at the Prudential Center on Saturday night, defeating the Anaheim Ducks 4–1 to halt a five-game home losing streak.
Stefan Noesen, Paul Cotter, and Cody Glass all scored as New Jersey rediscovered its early-season form on home ice after opening the year 9-0-1 in Newark. The Devils’ third line — Cotter, Juho Lammikko, and Noesen — powered the offense with five combined points, highlighted by Noesen’s first goal in 22 games.
Anaheim grabbed the early advantage when Troy Terry converted a breakaway in the first period for his 10th goal of the season. New Jersey responded in the second, taking control when Cotter struck for his third goal in as many games to put the Devils ahead for good.
Glass added to the lead late in the middle frame, finishing a setup from Ondrej Palat and Colton White, and Connor Brown sealed the result with an empty-netter in the final minutes.
Goaltender Jake Allen delivered a steady performance with 30 saves, earning his first win since Nov. 28 after dropping three straight. Anaheim’s Lukas Dostal stopped 18 shots, while the Ducks came up empty on four power-play chances.
The Devils again played without leading scorer Timo Meier, who missed his second consecutive game while dealing with a family health matter. Anaheim continued a demanding stretch, skating in its third game in five nights during a lengthy road trip.
