Timo Meier’s rebound goal early in the third period secured a 3-2 victory for the New Jersey Devils over the Seattle Kraken on Friday night.
In his 500th career game, Jesper Bratt contributed a goal and an assist, while Luke Hughes scored his first of the season. Jack Hughes added two assists, and Jacob Markstrom stopped 17 shots as the Devils claimed their sixth win in eight games.
Shane Wright and Andre Burakovsky scored for Seattle, who saw their two-game winning streak come to an end. Philipp Grubauer delivered an outstanding performance in net, recording a season-high 34 saves, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Kraken from dropping their fourth game in six outings.
Meier’s decisive goal came just 53 seconds into the third period, marking his ninth goal of the season and the 200th of his career.

Wright restored Seattle’s lead with a power-play goal early in the second period, but Bratt tied the game once again at 8:03 with his 13th of the season.
