Palat’s Early Third-Period Goal Lifts Devils Over Kraken 3-2, Ending Losing Streak

Ondrej Palat scored the decisive goal just 37 seconds after the Kraken tied it, leading the New Jersey Devils to a 3-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Monday night and snapping their four-game losing streak.

Dawson Mercer contributed a goal and an assist, while Paul Cotter also found the back of the net for New Jersey. Jacob Markstrom stopped 21 shots in a strong performance for the Devils.

Adam Larsson and Shane Wright scored for Seattle, while Philipp Grubauer made 26 saves. The Kraken continued their struggles, losing their third straight game (0-2-1) and eighth in their last 10 (2-7-1).

Wright tied the game 2-2 with a power-play goal just 1:24 into the third period. However, Palat responded moments later with a quick strike to regain the lead for New Jersey, which they held for the remainder of the game.

Mercer scored at 7:56 of the first period, collecting a rebound near the right post for his 10th goal of the season. Larsson tied it late in the first, but Cotter’s 10th goal gave the Devils a 2-1 lead just 25 seconds before the second intermission.
