The New Jersey Devils are looking to add goal scoring this offseason. It is one of the areas of need Devils President and General Manager Tom Fitzgerald will be looking to upgrade. They have been looking to replace that type of player since they traded Tyler Toffoli to the Winnipeg Jets during the 2023-24 season. New Jersey needs a different mix, not only in the bottom six, but also in the top six. And one name that could help the Devils is Jason Robertson.

DevilsNation.com Note: Robertson has one year left at $7.75 million and would be a restricted free agent. He would bringa a scoring punch the Devils need. It means they are keeping a close eye on the situation, as the Dallas Stars have cap issues. But the Stars want to sign him.
Not to mention, the Devils, if a trade were to take place, may have to shift someone like Timo Meier to Dallas because the Dallas Stars are not taking Ondrej Palat‘s $6 million off your hands for Robertson. And say the Devils were to move Dougie Hamilton as part of a Robertson trade, Fitzgerald would want a defenseman back.

Additionally, the Devils’ GM will have to be okay with signing Robertson to $9 million or more on an AAV. That is the price for a player who will record 100 points in a season. And if the Robertson trade doesn’t happen, do the Devils go in another direction to help with their goal-scoring woes?
These are some things to keep an eye on as the New Jersey Devils’ offseason continues.
