The Philadelphia Flyers erupted for three goals in just 26 seconds—a new franchise record—en route to a 6–3 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday, punctuating an emotional evening honoring legendary goaltender Bernie Parent, who passed away two months earlier at age 80.

The scoring outburst, delivered late in the first period, was the fourth-fastest three-goal sequence in NHL history. Only Boston (1971), Washington (1990), and Chicago (1952) have recorded quicker trios, with the Montreal Maroons also ahead from 1932.

Philadelphia had previously set a team mark with three goals in 35 seconds back in 1979, but Saturday’s barrage obliterated that record.

With the game tied 1–1, the fireworks began:

  • Matvei Michkov struck first at 12:06 for his fifth of the season—coming in his 100th career NHL game.

  • Tyson Foerster followed with back-to-back goals at 12:15 and 12:32, giving him his sixth and seventh of the year.

All three tallies came at even strength. Foerster’s pair, scored 17 seconds apart, were the fastest by a Flyer since Jeff Carter scored twice in 13 seconds on Jan. 8, 2008.

Philadelphia pushed ahead 4–1 on Parent Tribute Night before adding insurance goals from Bobby Brink in the second period and Trevor Zegras on a third-period breakaway.

New Jersey captain Nico Hischier scored twice and added an assist, and Timo Meier also found the net for the Devils. Despite giving up six goals, Jake Allen had been stellar recently, allowing only four total over his previous three starts and entering with a .920 save percentage.

Dan Vladar made 32 saves for the Flyers, who continued their pattern of allowing the first goal—this marked the seventh straight game they conceded first.
