Nico Hischier, Timo Meier, and Connor Brown each tallied a goal and an assist as the New Jersey Devils snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4–3 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night in a clash between two of the Eastern Conference’s top teams.

Detroit’s scoring came from Alex DeBrincat, James van Riemsdyk, and Dylan Larkin, but an early New Jersey surge proved too much to overcome.

The Devils struck three times on only eight first-period shots, jumping out to a 3–1 lead they carried into the intermission. The win was New Jersey’s first in regulation since Nov. 1, as their previous four victories had all required overtime or a shootout.

Jacob Markstrom delivered a strong outing with 32 saves, including 13 during a busy third period as Detroit pushed to tie the game.

Hischier continued his hot streak, scoring his fourth goal in five games and assisting on Meier’s first-period tally — marking the 102nd multi-point game of his NHL career.

Returning from a four-game absence due to an upper-body injury, Cody Glass broke a 1–1 tie with a first-period goal in his return to the lineup.

Van Riemsdyk, playing in his 1,100th NHL game, cut Detroit’s deficit to one with a second-period power-play goal. Moritz Seider notched two assists in the loss, which was only the Red Wings’ second defeat in their last seven games.

Brown restored the Devils’ two-goal cushion late in the second period before Larkin netted his 13th goal of the season in the third to make it 4–3.

Cam Talbot stopped 15 shots for Detroit.
