Sean Monahan scored twice, and Charlie Coyle delivered the third-period winner as the Columbus Blue Jackets erased an early deficit to beat the New Jersey Devils 5–3 on Monday night, halting a four-game winless streak.
Coyle, who added two assists for a three-point night, buried the go-ahead goal 6:40 into the third period. Columbus had been 0-1-3 over its previous four games before mounting the comeback.

After starting the season 9-0-1 at home, the Devils have now dropped consecutive regulation games at Prudential Center. New Jersey (16-9-1) also missed its chance to leapfrog Carolina for first place in the Metropolitan Division.
Columbus Powers Ahead
Monahan’s second goal — a power-play wrist shot at 7:14 of the third — extended the Blue Jackets’ lead to 4–2, proving to be the decisive blow. Columbus also dominated in the faceoff circle, winning 62.3% of draws.
The victory lifted the Blue Jackets (12-9-5) out of the division’s basement, nudging them one point ahead of the New York Rangers.
